personal post: thanksgiving, 2011.

I am thankful. Thankful for a tiny town. A tiny town in Missouri. In Missouri, where I have spent countless Thanksgivings. Countless Thanksgivings with over 30 family members. Over 30 family members who crowd into my grandparents house. Crowd into my grandparents house and spend days doing nothing but spending quality time together. Spending quality...

sneak peek: thankful for you.

Not only is this couple completely in love, hilarious, and absolutely gorgeous, but I am lucky enough to call him my cousin and will soon welcome her into my family too!   We had a wonderful time during this session- my only instructions were to “be themselves” and I feel so honored to have had a...

sneak peek: up, up, and away.

This cutie was not the only one taking flight during our session.   Apparently a hawk grabbed something (I will save you from the details) from the ground and swooped over our heads, carrying it away.  Thankfully it was behind my back so I did not actually witness it, and it gave everyone a good laugh. ...

perfectly accessorized.

When Mom told me that she really wanted to capture some images of her family snuggling together in her bed, I could not have been happier.  What a warm and cozy way to welcome the newest member to this absolutely beautiful family.  This gorgeous baby has a lot to live up to- just look at...

sneak peek: “rules” of a photo session.

Here you will find a few “rules” to any jessie hearn photography session.  Prepare yourself- these are always tougher on the parents 😉   Rule 1: Your child will (most likely) wake up with some sort of cut, scratch or bruise on the morning of our photo shoot.  If he/she does not wake up with...

Meet Jessie

evanston studio photographer 35

I love photography; I always have. I remember waiting anxiously at the drugstore so that I could rush home with my new pictures and carefully put them into frames and photo albums.

Even though 20 years have passed and digital cameras changed photography, my feelings and excitement are the same. I still race home after a shoot to look at every image and relive each moment of our session.

My goal is to combine the emotion that I feel with every click of the camera with your family as you actually are: smiling, laughing, even crying. I strive to find the true essence of who you are and capture these moments for you for a lifetime. Your family, as you are, smiling, laughing, even crying, but mainly just being yourselves.
