sneak peek explosion.

It was a BUSY weekend in the Chicago area and wow, did we get lucky with the weather!  It rained for days leading up to these sessions, so I was just keeping my fingers crossed that the rain would pass and it did.   I still find myself in awe sometimes that I am so lucky to have a “job” that I love so much- 5 amazing families, 5 different locations, and way too much fun and laughter!  Thank you all for sharing your time with me and allowing me to photograph your families.

And now, without further ado, the sneak peeks!

When I say this session was ALL BOY, I am not exaggerating.   3 active boys had me laughing the entire time, but for me, the best part of this session was seeing mom… we went to school together- elementary all the way through high school, spent countless hours playing at our houses, roller blade hockey in our neighborhood, babysitting the neighborhood kids, and growing up together.   It was absolutely wonderful meeting her happy and hilarious family and watching the incredibly laid-back and fun way that they parented their “herd of boys.”

I have been photographing big bro since he was 5 months old and little sis since she was a newborn, so I always adore spending time with those families I’ve known forever.  Since our last session, this fabulous family of four moved into a new house that is literally steps away from the beach.  So, an end of October session, with absolutely gorgeous weather resulted in a walk along the beach.   We could have stayed there all day!

This fall mini-session could not have gone any more smoothly… fabulous outdoor location and a happy 1 year old!  What more could you ask for?  And seriously- these eyes are amazing, are they not?   To top it off, Dad and I found out that we are both U. of Michigan alums- GO BLUE!  And although we missed the first part of the football game during our session, could the end of that game have been any more perfect?  Sorry Mich. State fans!

I met this Mom during prenatal water aerobics (yes, it is quite a sight to see!) when we were pregnant with our oldest ones!  Hard to believe this guy is now 4, and an awesome big brother.   We started this session early in the morning and the sun hadn’t yet risen over the pond. This resulted in an absolutely gorgeous reflection that I didn’t want to lose, so literally the second this family arrived I had them sprinting across the bridge for our first shot.  Nothing like a quick start!

And last, but certainly not least, yet another fabulous location with beautiful fall colors.   You probably remember these adorable kiddos, as they have appeared on the blog quite a few times.   Their happy faces just make me smile!

Thank you to all of these families for choosing me as your photographer!  And with that, I return to my editing- ’tis the busy season 🙂
