personal post: cats, cats, and more cats (and dogs too).

My oldest daughter turned 6 a few weeks ago.   We have spent lots (and lots and lots) of time talking about kindness towards others.   I could not be any more proud that she chose to ask for gifts for the animals at a shelter, instead of gifts for herself.   And I promised her that I would share some of the images of her donating her gifts and playing with the cats on my blog.

We chose to donate the gifts to Orphans of the Storm.  For those of you in the Chicago-land area, Orphans of the Storm takes in, cares for and finds good and loving adoptive homes for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs and cats each year.  Their facilities were clean and the animals were well cared for.

The girls had so much fun getting their snuggles in with these cats.   Truth be told, this room full of cats scared me a bit, but I sure did love watching them fearlessly march their way in there and surround themselves with their new “buddies.”
